Sometimes it’s hard to name a painting, much less figure out which direction you like best. The name I give it might be nothing like what you’d name it. When you look at an abstract painting, and especially an abstract expressionist painting (one that evokes emotion) you bring your own story and experiences to it, much like when you are in a book study or bible study. You may read the same passage as another person and have a completely different take on what it means. There is beauty in that, I think. The book or the painting may speak deeply to your experience while another person might just take a glance and move on. I invite you to take a few moments and let yourself look at this or any other painting for more than a glance. What do you first notice? What invites you in, what repels you? Does it remind you of anything, a moment in your past, a feeling you had then that you haven’t thought about for a long time? Here’s a Visual Journey video around the painting above. It allows you to get in close and travel around the painting “It’s a Beautiful Ride”.

Interested in purchasing this painting? It’s acrylic on 12 x 12″ gessobord with 3/4″ birch sides, wired to hang. Let me know which version you like best and I can wire it accordingly. My demo paintings are half price at $125.00 (includes shipping & handling.)

I am an Abstract Expressionist acrylic painter. Abstract Expressionism is aimed at subjective emotional expression with a particular emphasis on the creative spontaneous act of painting. I love interpreting music with paint, specifically choral and orchestral music, but I am open to whatever moves me to see color, movement and texture. Beyond Color: Using Paint to Heal, Create & Grow is a painting tutorial series in abstract expressionism aimed specifically at beginners and non-artists who need a creative outlet to give themselves a lift, a way to express whatever they are feeling with color. Beyond Color: Art Blog posts are my brief reflections on the 12 x 12" painting created in each demo, which will also be for sale. To see my latest work, check out my Gallery page.
